Yuri is the owner of Checkpoint with great teaching experience. In addition to this he built his career on the creation of the musical project and brand Checkpoint, which today includes two premises - Checkpoint Studio and Drumschool.

Completed music school education in the class of drum & percussion instruments (music school №1 named after Y. S. Stepovogo, Kyiv)

Playing drums experience - 20 years
Teaching experience - 13 years (more than 15 thousand hours of teaching)

Concert and studio experience. I have been working for 17 years in the music industry.

During these 13 years of teaching my school has trained more than 3000 students. I have taught students from Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, the USA, Canada, China, France, Great Britain, Norway, the Netherlands, and Finland.

  • Started playing drums in 2005
  • In 2008 Yuri created with fellow musicians his first rehearsal studio which was called at that time “Garage 13”
  • In 2012 began giving the first lessons in the garage rehearsal space.
  • In 2013 began creating a rehearsal-studio complex Checkpoint simultaneously teaching in this studio
  • In 2019 started working on creating Checkpoint Drumshool which took 2 years of reconstructions and musical equipment delivery
  • In July 2021 the opening of Checkpoint Drumschool took place - a unique project for Ukraine and Europe!
  • In 2024 the Checkpoint Drumschool celebrated 3 years and at the beginning of 2025 the Checkpoint Studio celebrated its 12th anniversary
  • From 2024 Yuri works on releasing educational content on Checkpoint's channel on YouTube, as well as podcasts with famous Ukrainian drummers and musicians
